The person appointed will be responsible to the relevant Waste/Cleansing Manager based at their primary location, and be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Council’s Waste and Cleansing Services workforce of approximately 200 employees who are engaged in delivery of refuse collection, recycling, skip collection, street cleansing, public conveniences, and other cleaning services across the Borough.
The appointed person will be responsible for ensuring that Waste and Cleansing services are delivered on the ground, to a high standard across the Borough, in line with relevant Council policies and the annual Service Plan for Waste and Cleansing Services.

The working hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 36 hours per week.
Wednesday 1.30pm – 17.30pm
Thursday 1.30pm – 17.30pm
Friday 6.30am – 17.30pm (1hr break)
Saturday 6.30am – 16.30pm (1hr break)
Sunday 6.30am – 16.30pm (1hr break)
- A reserve list may be maintained for one year from which other similar permanent vacancies at the same grade may be filled.
