General Operatives – No experience necessary. (Job Code 20N/GOAD)
Randox are continuing to support the government in their COVID testing programme and we need additional staff to work on a full-time basis within our busy Accessioning team.
The Accessioning Team deal with the test kits when they first come to Randox to be tested. Our busy operatives “unpack” the kits, visually check them and scan them on to our system. No previous experience is necessary as training is provided. Although initially temporary, there is the possibility for good performers to be made permanent.
We are hiring people on a full-time basis who must be available to work a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off. It is essential that applicants are available to work blocks of both days and night shifts 7am-7pm (days) and 7pm-7am Nights). Most night shift hours are paid at an increased hourly rate.
A shuttle service will be starting soon form a pick-up point in Belfast to bring staff to the Randox Science Park and back again.
As a member of the Accessioning department you will be part of a multifunctional team who hold responsibility for the unpacking and administrative processing of COVID -19 samples when they are returned to our laboratories for testing. Your duties will include:
• The unpacking of samples upon arrival using a range of unpacking tools
• Completing of a range of visual Quality Control checks
• Scanning the samples onto our bespoke laboratory software to confirm receipt.
As part of this role you will be required to wear extensive personal protective equipment including protective suit, respirator mask, gloves and shoe covers.
The successful candidate must possess the following:
• GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English Language (Grades A-C)
• Good numeric and organisational skills
• Good interpersonal and team working skills
• Good time keeping skills
• Computer literacy advantageous
• Previous experience in a manufacturing / production environment, whilst not essential, may prove advantageous.
• Experience of shift work, whilst not essential, may also prove advantageous.
