Keystone Lintels Limited is the UKs leading manufacturer of steel lintels, founded in 1989, with production facilities in Cookstown and Derbyshire, England. Keystone Lintels is part of the larger Keystone Group consisting of Keystone Lintels, IG Lintels, Keylite Roof Windows, IG Elements, IG Masonry Support Systems and Smart roof. Products include specialist steel support systems, brick slip bonded systems, roof windows and offsite prefabricated roof systems. The companies are based in South Derbyshire, Cwmbran, Cookstown and Poland.

In a bid to address the lack of affordable housing, Keystone, in partnership with South West College, have secured a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to further develop a concept “kit house” using prefabricated panels. The KTP associate will be responsible for transfer of knowledge and technology between South West College and Keystone by undertaking a 2-year project.

The project will involve assisting Keystone in specification, design, testing and manufacture of Keyhouse – an off-site manufactured kit-house, capable of construction within 12 hours. The construction will require stringent testing and incorporation of challenging architectural and technical detailing, ensuring the building is structurally sound and conforms to all technical requirements. New manufacturing methods will also be developed for the factory environment off-site construction. The associate will work closely with the project partners (Keystone Lintels and SWC) and will benefit from academic supervision from SWC.
